About leg, ankle and foot pain

Leg, ankle or foot injuries are characterised by the experience of pain and discomfort when pressure is applied to your leg joints.

Causes of leg pain

Leg and related joint pains are usually treated with a soft tissue massage around the surrounding muscles to decrease tension/ restriction. The joint is then mobilised and scar tissue is broken down (where applicable). You will be prescribed specific stretches, tailored to your circumstances and ability. Some calf pains, swellings or rashes can be symptoms of a systemic disease. If symptoms persist, please consult your GP for further advice.

Osteopathic treatment

Osteopaths gently mobilise arthritic joints to increase the range of motion of the joint and therefore also decreasing pain. This treatment technique can assist even severe arthritis sufferers. Osteopaths will be able to assess your condition and offer advice on your personal needs. Further pain relief may also be available from your GP or pharmacist.
